Senior Accountant - Hungary

About the Role

This role oversees the daily accounting operations for Envipco’s Hungarian legal entity, ensuring accurate and timely IFRS reporting and full adherence to Hungarian statutory and tax requirements, as well as internal control standards. You will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, prepare and post journal entries, and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations. The role also involves supporting intercompany accounting, accruals, local statutory reporting, and both internal and external audits.

You will contribute to ongoing process improvements, including the in-housing of day-to-day accounting from a local accounting firm, and play an active role in the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365. This position requires close collaboration with colleagues across the international finance organization and other key stakeholders.

Tasks

• In-house and own the day-to-day accounting for Envipco’s Hungarian entity

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings under IFRS

• Prepare and post journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Support statutory reporting and Hungarian tax compliance (in collaboration with local advisors, as applicable)

• Support process improvements, including contributing to the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Support internal and external audits

• Handle intercompany accounting

• Prepare and review accruals

• Collaborate with the international finance team and other stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a GL or accounting role

• Solid understanding of IFRS

• Expertise in Hungarian statutory and tax requirements

• Strong Excel and ERP skills (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage)

• Comfortable working in an international, fast-changing environment

• Fluent in English and Hungarian (written and spoken)
