Engineering Director

Envipco – Romania:  Engineering Center of Excellence: Cluj-Napoca, Romania (this role is On-site)

Tasks:

• Help to build the team in Romania through hiring and organizing Envipco Engineering in our newly forming Engineering Center of Excellence in Cluj-Napoca.

• Ensure that each employee has clear and prioritized project goals and deliverables as well as a career plan that also has planned goals and activities.

• Work with Project Managers to ensure that the Envipco Engineering projects each have a clearly defined scope, start and end dates, and resources assigned. 

• Help define the work processes for the Engineering team in Romania through standard Operating procedures so that all staff and partners understand their role and responsibilities and have a clear definition of how we do our work.

• Managing Engineering Employees Salary and Career plans, helping each employee to develop and improve themselves in their own capability. 

• Enable each employee to advance to achieve their career goals while also achieving the Envipco’s Corporate Business goals.

• Continuous improvement of Team architecture, tools, and product development processes so that the engineering team can become faster and more efficient.

• Communication: Regular, concise, and prudent communication of status updates and key issues to the CTO related to People, Products and Processes.

• Reviewing the technical work of the Engineering team to ensure that Product Requirements have been captured based on the Voice of the Customer.

• Ensuring that the Product is designed to meet those requirements, and that Validation testing has been completed to ensure that the Product Delivers on those requirements to delight the Customer with a very high level of Design Quality.

Profile:

You hold an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or similar.  Bachelor of Science required, Master of Science preferred.

You have some level of professional training in Business and leadership.  An MBA is preferred; however, other training may also be acceptable.

• You have wide knowledge of and experience with current best practice Product Development, Validation and testing methodologies and processes

• People Leadership Experience:  12+ years.

• Project leadership Experience:  15+ years

• Product Development Experience: 18+ years.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented person that can inspire and motivate their team with strong and positive attitude.

• A highly self-motivated, driven and accountable person that works well in teams.

• Very good language skills in Romanian and English.  Other appreciated languages are : German, Polish Swedish, Dutch or Norwegian.
