Summary: We are seeking a Global Procurement Category Manager for Mechanical parts and sub-assemblies within our Global Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Director, this role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and cost management while ensuring production continuity and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global category strategy to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and drive business growth.

  • Lead the development and execution of annual and long-term sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Oversee supplier assessment, selection, and long-term partnerships across multiple categories and regions to enhance supply chain performance.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and risk mitigation.

  • Manage procurement strategy for mechanical parts (sheet metal, machined, rubber, etc.), mechanical sub-assemblies (e.g., cabinets), and related categories, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and reliability.

  • Work closely with senior executives and key stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business goals and operational needs.

  • Negotiate contracts that drive cost savings, ensure supply continuity, and maintain high-quality standards while managing risk.

  • Identify potential supply chain risks, develop proactive mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

  • Enhance cash flow by implementing vendor-managed inventory (VMI), optimizing payment terms, and reducing inventory and lead times.

  • Maintain supplier performance metrics, analyze key procurement data, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain preferred).

  • Extensive experience in procurement of mechanical parts (sheet metal, machined, rubber, etc.) and mechanical sub-assemblies (e.g., cabinets).

  • Expertise in category management, procurement strategies, and sourcing processes.

  • Strong negotiation, contracting, and supplier management skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels.

  • Analytical mindset with strong market research and data interpretation skills.

  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for procurement categories and strategic decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.

  • Customer-oriented, proactive, and willing to take responsibility.

  • High-energy, positive "can-do" attitude with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Fluent in English and Romanian (company standard language); Dutch, or German, is a plus.

  • Valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel globally.
