Tasks:

  • Market Expansion & Strategy: Work closely with the VP Business Development EMEA to assess and execute market entries across selected European countries, with Spain as a top priority.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage existing local teams where present; in other markets, build networks and establish teams based on business needs.

  • Market Analysis & Insights: Conduct deep market research to understand competitive landscapes, regulatory environments, and key business drivers.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including FMCG retailers, NGOs, government bodies, beverage producers, and DRS operators.

  • Operational Setup & Growth: Define the optimal market entry strategy and structure for Envipco, ensuring a strong local presence and sustainable growth.

  • Team Transition & Handover: Establish local teams to take over daily operations once the market is operational and self-sustaining.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between local teams, customers, and Envipco’s European operations, including production facilities in the USA, Germany, Romania, and Greece.

  • Financial & Business Planning: Work alongside the VP Business Development EMEA to oversee financial performance, develop investment strategies, and create business plans.

  • Commercial Strategy & Execution: Guide local teams on commercial proposals, tender submissions, and negotiations with customers.

  • Leadership & Coaching: Mentor in-country management teams, providing expertise and strategic direction to drive success.

  • Location & Reporting: Role based in Madrid, reporting to the VP Business Development EMEA, based in the Netherlands.

Job requirements

Key qualifications:

  •       Degree in Business Administration, Commercial or Technical education

  •       10+ years International Commercial / Business development experience with proven success

  •       Able to present and build profitable business cases and market entry plan

  •       Experience with building up international teams and setting up new offices

  •       (Food) Retail experience, a deep understanding of the dynamics of European retail

  •       Project management experience to manage large roll out schemes in short time

  •       Exposure to legislation and experience with governmental bodies

  •       Long term view, thinks 2-3 years ahead
