Summary: Envipco is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Engineering to join our Osnabruck, Germany office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for orchestrating the engineering team, ensuring project success, fostering career development, and driving continuous improvement in processes and efficiency. Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Divisional Leadership Team with a direct reporting line to the management, you will have strategic responsibility for the entire Engineering division.
  • You will manage four direct reports from the engineering departments Automation, Electrical Design, Mechanical Design, Standardization & Documentation as well as an associated team of approx. 10 employees at the Osnabrück site
  • You will be responsible for the overall technical and planning coordination within Engineering across all project phases and ensure regular, trust-based communication and sparring with our customers and the Service, Sales and Operations departments
  • To increase standardization and reduce complexity, you develop innovative solutions, implement them together with your team and thereby implement an open culture of continuous improvement
  • You identify economic potential and trends in product development/design and support strategic cross-departmental company projects
  • You will independently create and manage an efficient organizational unit in terms of cross-divisional and cross-location interface management with all key stakeholders in the process landscape
  • Based on the development of strategies and structures that contribute to the strategic goals of our company, you will further develop our talent management together with HR and initiate measures to promote our talents and team development
  • You will also be responsible for compliance with applicable processes, methods and standards and manage engineering activities using suitable key figures, including efficiency, quality and safety aspects, including budget responsibility


Job requirements

Profile:

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering / industrial engineering. Professional training in business and leadership; MBA preferred.
  • Many years of professional experience in the mechanical and electrical design of machines as well as knowledge of automation technology
  • Many years of management experience in an SME in the field of mechanical engineering / special machine construction, preferably with a background in an international corporate environment
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering work and the competence requirements in the field of engineering as well as proven success in new product development
  • Strong leadership personality, able to react adequately and flexibly to changing customer requirements in terms of organization and content
  • Confidence in analyzing, handling and processing key figures and budgets
  • Implementation-oriented and pragmatic personality with a high willingness to change and optimize
  • Focus on talent development and maintaining an open culture of know-how transfer
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
